For AEC to be able to cancel echo from all audio sources on a system, we'd need access to the system-wide audio output. Paul tells me platform APIs should be able to provide this in many cases, and if there is no such way, cubeb could mix the audio and provide a stream of all rendered audio from a particular Firefox instance.
