This issue was originally reported in Bug 1828045. When formatted text is copied from the MacOS Notes App and pasted into a editor (e.g. the Lexical editor), it is copied as plain text only. Images are lost.

Pasting the text into this clipboard tester shows:

  • In Firefox, the clipboard contains plain text and rtf data. Images are shown as object replacement character
  • In Chromium, the clipboard contains plain text, rtf and html data, but apparently no images
  • In Safari, the clipboard contains plain text and html. html contains the image as blob

Per offline discussion, moving this to S3, as this is restricted to one App on MacOS.
