I can confirm this on a PII 400, 256MB. It's usable but it is noticably slow.

Too slow in what way? To load? to scroll through? expanding folders? Details
please... (I'm assuming by 'sidemark' you mean sidebar?)

Your user string identifies the OS as Linux and you've listed the OS as Linux,
but you say in the comments that the problem is in Windows? Do you have the
problem in both? Please try to keep things a little clearer in the future ;)
Compared to Mozilla's Sidebar Phoenix's Bookmarks Sidebar is slow; it
"hesitates" would be the best way to describe it, both for scrolling and for
expanding folders. Intriguingly, scrolling through and expanding folders in the
History Sidebar is just fine as everything is instantaneous. So this should be
doable for the bookmarks sidebar...

I'm sorry if i cannot express myself better in English, but my first language is
Spanish.
The problem is on my mother's computer. She runs Win2k on the mentioned
computer. I don't have the same problem on the other computers, a Duron750 w/
Linux (from which the bug was reported) and a P3-1Ghz laptop w/ Linux & WXP. But
history sidebar is still noticeably faster on all of them.

bookmarks have accumulated a lot of regression concerning in december.
Two of them have been fixed and the last one (bug 182842) will be fixed soon.
Grab a nightly and compare! There's already a huge win!

I don't entirely see how this is a dupe of bug 176370, but I do agree that the
performance of the sidebar, both scrolling and expanding folders, has improved
considerably since the time I confirmed this bug.
