User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030115 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030115 When going to save file, .csv is added to the end of the file name. This occurs in the dialog box "Enter name of file to save to" I manually delete the file extension, and change the filetype from "*.csv" to "All files" and it will then save correctly. exe files seem to be affected also. Zip files are the only ones so far that don't seem to have the problem. I tried uninstalling mozilla, and nuking the mozilla directory, and reinstalling, but still had the same problem Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Use above link 2.Try to save update.ini 3. Actual Results: Enter name of file to save to dialog box appends .csv to file, and changes file type to *.csv Expected Results: not appended .csv to files
Reporter: Do you have linked application/octet-stream to Excel in edit\preferences\Navigator\Helper apps ? Does it work if you remove that ?
Ok, application/octet-stream was linked to excel. I'd like to figure out what the culprit was that changed that... Don't remember doing anything that should have caused that.
possible you got a mail with an excel file and you unselected "Always show this dialog..." in the download dialog.
