User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030314 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030314 When viewing attachments inline and if an attachment is e-mail, the Normal headers are correct, but if you select View->Headers->All, then the additional headers are from the outer message not the attachment. It's trivial to verify by comparing the display with the View->Message->Source window. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.select mail messages which has an attached e-mail message 2.seleect View->Headers->All 3.compare headers shown for attachment with headers seen in View->Message->Source Actual Results: You see the headers from the outer message not the attachment Expected Results: Shown the headers from the attachment This happens on Linux and Windows with 1.3 final and I checked that it also occurs on Windows as least as far back as Moz 1.1
Duplicated w/ Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030430 To clarify, the outer message's headers appear in the (inline) headers of the inline attached message. John Gerth, you may be interested to know that 1.4b will now open an attached email into its own message window, with a standard header pane; that window shows "All Headers" correctly for the attachment.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
I spoke too soon: while the listed headers in the message window opened for the attachment are the correct ones, the message window *also* shows an attachment which is... itself! See Bug 204350.
Just checked and 1.4b still has this problem: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 It is true that if you open the attachement in a new window, it gets the headers right, but if you view inline with all headers displayed, the additional headers are fromt the outer message not the attached one.

I remarked this bug already several months ago, but did'nt report it until now. It still appears with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030619.
Can confirm this still happens in Mozilla 1.4 release: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
