Details

If you Manage Bookmarks, and create a nested folder, you can't create a bookmark in the newly created nested folder. Also, when you try to display nested folders created by Netscape 4.0, for instance, it displays it as a flat list. I assume these two have the same root cause. This may be related to the fact that mozilla won't display the following as a nested list: <html> <body> <dl> <dt>1 <!-- insert <dd> tag here and it will show up nested --> <dl> <dt>1.1 </dl> </dl> </body> </html> But requires that a <dd> tag be present before displaying the nested <dl> list. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that <dt> is an inline element and not a flow element, or whatever the appropriate terminology is. Just speculation... This is on Win NT 4 SP 5 Andrew.

Summary: Can't nest folders in bookmarks and have bookmarks in nested folder → Context menu should add item to selected folder
Target Milestone: M15
Resummarizing. The list display does not have anything to do with it.
This report looks like it is alluding to the same issue that is fully described in bug 27495, "If bookmark folder is selected, new bookmarks should go inside", NEW. Which way should the DUP go?
even though I always try to dupe the newer bug in deference to the older bug I won't do that in this case cuz this bug is a little muddy. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 27495 ***
