User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; T312461; .NET CLR 1.0.3705) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507 When opening a source view window (by using "view" / "page source"), the "find in this page"-function does not find any search results. This happens only directly after opening the window and with the following "find in this page"- dialog-settings: Match upper/lower case: off Wrap around: off Search backwards: off Workarounds: a) first click the sourcecode-text, then start searching or b) turn the "wrap-around"-option on Maybe there's a problem with the current text-position locator of the source view window ? i think it's NOT similar to BUG 199481, although the descriptions sound similar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open a webpage 2. choose "view" / "page source" from the menu 3. immediately choose "edit" / "find in this page" from the source viewer window main menu (CTRL+F) 4. set all options ("Match upper/lower case", "Wrap around", "Search backwards") in this dialog to off 5. type a word you should find in the source into the "find text"-field ("head" for example, without quotes) 6. click the find button Actual Results: no match is found, message appears: "The text you entered was not found" Expected Results: should have found a match
wfm using trunk build 2003051908 on Win2k.
It is a dupe of bug 199481 because you're both talking about focus. If you click inside the view-source window after opening it, everything should work just fine. Both this and bug 199481 seem related to bug 80598, which may need to be reopened.

Looks like the real dupe is bug 203117, handling the regression of the above mentioned bug. Oh well, this is just for future ref.
