User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6a) Gecko/20031017 Firebird/0.7+ (aebrahim)
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.3 (20031013)
When an account is collapsed, there should be some kind of indication if that
account has new mail. Possibly a change in font, or the number of new messages
inside in parentheses.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Keep an account collapsed.
2. Get new mail.
Actual Results:
No indicator (other than the tray notification) that there are new messages.
Expected Results:
Something should happen to alert the user that there is new mail waiting in the
collapsed folder.
This is especially useful for users with many mail accounts.

Normally, there is such a notification: a small green arrow (flag) appears on
the icon next to the account name. (May be missing in some themes, I suppose.)
There are cases where the flag is suppressed or mistaken; the feature from
bug 189289 (in current Moz1.6 builds) suppresses the flag for junk mail; when
mail is filtered from one account to another, the target account does not get
the flag (bug 202783).
Greg Campbell, if you have another specific case where the flag is not
appearing, please detail it here.

This must be a thunderbird-only issue.
Product -> Thunderbird
Product: MailNews → Thunderbird
Version: Trunk → unspecified

I think I figured out the problem. The little green arrow only appears the first
time there is new mail in an account. When you close and restart the
application, the green arrow disappears, even though there is still new mail.
The green arrow really should stay there until there is no more unread mail.

I can confirm this on 'Mozilla Thunderbird 0.4 (20031206)'.
THis bug should be moved to confirmed. BTW comment #3 describes the real bug.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
