I configured my laptop to use DHCP, at work I connect to a "real" linux gateway
server, at home I connect to my network with WinGate installed on it.
The WinGate Server recognizes that Mozilla sends TCP/IP packets just like
Netscape, IExplore, FTPClients... but at my laptop where the WinGate Client is
installed, Mozilla just does not displays anything, then Mozilla crashes.
Could not create a testcase, perhaps some Windows users should install
WinGate...

alangho@itbnet.de, please provide the Build ID for the version you were using,
and, if possible, Steps to Reproduce the problem as described in the
Bug-Writing Guidelines at
http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html
Also, IIRC, Wingate works as a proxy: have you set up
Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Proxies as described in bug 8559
( http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8559 ) under
-- Additional Comments From paulmac@netscape.com 09/24/99 16:31 -- ?
Note that proxy support is not yet complete - see bug 20400.
Please provide a URL for WinGate if you'd like anyone to test this.
Thanks!

thought build ID was submitted:
I used the nightly build from 31.(30.?)12.1999 with Windows NT and 2000 and
WinGate 3.0.5
I configured not to use proxy support, I used "direct connection to Internet",
that´s why I was surprised that Mozilla crashed.

as i do not use WinGate anymore I can´t provide any stack trace (I use Win2000
Internet Connection sharing service instead)
Adding "crash" keyword to all known open crasher bugs.

This looks like it is about the same issue that is being addressed in bug
26493, "Install crashes, browser doesn't browse web", M14, beta1: Wingate.
The only real difference is that the reporter here was using WinNT,
and 26493's reporter was using Win95, but now that bug 23709 is fixed,
they should be on an equal footing.

It would be helpful to know what build you used succesfully with Wingate;
at last report in bug 26493 the M14 build worked with Wingate on WinNT only if
Wingate was enabled *after* Mozilla was started. Thanks.
