WFM: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031207 Firebird/0.7+ Please try a new nightly build and let us know if that works.
it still happens with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031206 Firebird/0.7+ (aebrahim) i've created a new profile and not a single extention installed, so this shouldnt be the problem

I see this exact behavior when I follow the Reporter's instructions, on Firebird 20031130. Confirming. I also see it when I start off at some page (say SlashDot), visit: http://isp-lists.isp-planet.com/isp-routing/0205/msg00091.html and click on the broken mailto: link there. I have browser.xul.error_pages.enabled set, and when I press back on the error page it skips the isp-planet page and goes right back to SlashDot.

A bit of a correction in the above comment: the reason that the mailto link in that page is "bad" is because I don't have a mailer configured in Firebird. The error I get is 'mailto is not a registered protocol'.
just wanted to add that it also happenes with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031208 and Mozilla 1.5 on WinXP
Please search for existing bugs before filing new ones. There is one with almost the same wording in the summary! pi *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 166807 ***
