When I forward spam to SpamCop, which I do a lot, I have to permanently delete
the mails from the Junk folder and the Sent folder. It would be nice if there
were an option where I could make Thunderbird not put sent mail in the Sent
folder if the mails come from the Junk folder.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Does this problem still exist in newer builds? Try using one of the 1.5beta
builds to verify. If it still exists, then please add a commenting saying so,
so that we can get this RFE dealt with.
When I forward mails from the Junk folder a copy is still put in the Sent folder.

I can't quite grasp why we would want to make a special case for this, especially if it creates a behavior that might be unexpected for most users.
Sounds more like extension fodder.

1) I agree with Wayne's comment 4 that we have no way of predicting user's expectations regarding the behaviour here, and creating a special UI for this seems a bit over the top (apart from doubts if forwarding spams to spamcops is still a frequent behaviour). So yes, this looks much like a candidate for an extension if anything.

2) Furthermore, you can easily create the most important part of the desired behaviour by creating an alias identity on your account (Tools > Account Settings > Your account > Manage identities). Then, for that alias identity, say "Joe Miller (spamreport)", you can permanently disable the fcc to Sent folder in the "Copies & folders" tab when editing the identity. To enjoy, just pick that alias identity from the "From" dropdown when composing forwarded msgs to spamcop & co. That looks like a very acceptable workaround to me.

3) Otherwise, perhaps a point for bug 238398 which imo could be confirmed.

4) Finally, no dupes reported, and no supportive comments in 8 yrs.
