This is a feature present in Lotus Notes 5.0.x - Mail database. In configuration
you could set the system to optionaly prompt you before sending an e-mail, if
you would like to save a copy of this mail in Sent.
In TB and most other e-mail clients this is done automatically (saving in the
folder Sent), but quite frequent I receive large files as attachments which I
then forward to others. This unnecessarily clogges up my Sent folder, when it
would be much more useful if I had a choice:
- always save in Sent
- prompt me
- never save in Sent
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. send mail in TB
Actual Results:
the mail gets copied into the Sent folder in TB
Expected Results:
Either not copy the mail in Sent or ask you on sending whether you would like to
save the e-mail message in Sent

A capture of the Lotus Notes 5.0.9 User Preferences - Mail and News section on
how to enable the possibility of prompting the user to choose whether to save
the e-mail message he/she is sending in the Sent folder.
