User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040618 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040618 Title says it all: Going from unthreaded to threaded mail view and then deleting a thread results in strange blanck subject lines. This with deletion configured to move messages to Trash. Didn't try other deletion modes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set so that delete moves messages to trash on an IMAP server. 2. Take a mail folder that is displayed sorted by something else than thread, for instance, sort by date. 3. Go to another folder. 4. Go back to that folder. 5. Click on the sort by thread column head. 6. Select a full thread and delete it. Actual Results: Notice that where the thead was, instead of it being completely deleted, there remains threaded empty mail subject lines. This doesn't seem to affect actual deletion, and going to another folder and comming back shows the thread properly not present. Expected Results: Full thread should have immediately disappeared from subject view. Using IMAP server, and deletion moves messages to trash.
This is possibly the same as bug 259578, which has been fixed since mid- September. Gilles Gravier, is this bug still an issue for you? If so -- did the bug suddenly start with a particular release (e.g. 1.7 or a nightly)? See also bug 102997, bug 154403.
Summary: Going from unthreaded to threaded mail view and then deleting a thread results in strange blanck subject lines. → Going from unthreaded to threaded mail view and then deleting a thread results in strange blank subject lines.
THis is still present in Thunderbird 0.8, for example.
Bug 231846 is a likely dupe -- that patch did not make it into the 0.8 TB build. Please try a current nightly.
