User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 This is such a problem I am unable to use Foxfire 1.0 at all and must (with sorrow) return to using Internet Explorer. I can't find anything!!! It is absolutely essential that when IE favorites are imported into Foxfire bookmarks menu that the exact order at each menu level be maintained. Also essential that there is a way to return to that "customized" order after using the varius sort options (eg sort in alphabetical order. Finally, it is important the user be able to easily create a custom order (via drag & drop within the bookmarkes menu). For that last point Suggest copying IE capability/method since everyone knows how to do it that way already. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Import bookmark from IE 2. Try to find the bookmark I am looking for (at the top menu level). 3. Can't find the bookmark because it's in the wrong order- hidden amongst all my other bookmarks on the same menu level (all of which are in the wrong order). Actual Results: Tell my friends to keep using Internet explorer (with yahoo toolbar that includes free popup blocker and anti-spyware. Foxfire is not yet ready for prime time. Expected Results: Bookmarks should appear in the exact same order I had them in IE. Otherwise the browser is of no use to me! I would call this a critical defect, not just an enhancement. Hope someone can fix this so I can get off of microsoft. :)
I hope that you find a good way of moving away from Microsoft, if that is a priority for you. I would suggest that you arrange a vendor agnostic system for storing and using bookmarks, such as http://sourceforge.net/projects/bookmarksync or http://www.frech.ch/online-bookmarks/installation.php?style=shock The problem of IE bookmarks not sorting as expected is likely to be infrequently experienced by Firefox users, and unless your bug happens to appeal to a developer or more reasonably an extension author, I doubt that it will receive speedy resolution. Having said that, I see no reason why the menu structure (assuming that it is available to the importing mechanism) should not be imported as is.
Or you can just drag and drop them the way you want in the bookmark manager /bookmarks/manage bookmarks...

I pretty much can say that for the moment this is a wontfix. The functions is available in the bookmark manager.

This isn't a WONTFIX, since we probably should at some point import cleanly, but there may be limitations on that front.
