04ss1ys: Could you specify, what version of Firefox and Acrobat do you use? Could you also provide Talkback incident ID of your crash?

I'm seeing this in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050118 Firefox/1.0+ (MOOX M3) And apparently my girlfriend has been seeing this in 1.0 Final (official), also. However, firefox doesn't crash, it just locks up.

This happens for me too. It's not a full crash, just a lock up. And only when closing the tab/window the pdf is embeded in. I'm using Acro 6 professional.

I see exactly the same behaviour. Firefox 1.0.1, Win XP (home edition(not service pack 2), Adobe Reader V6.0.0.5/19/2003. I can open a pdf file in Firefox OK, but any attempt to close it or use the back button and get to the previous http causes FF to crash. I get an apologetic message from Adobe saying it's sorry, it had to shut down.

Just made a test: if I open a pdf file on the desktop before trying anything with Firefox, everything behaves normally. I can open and close pdf files in Firefox with no problem. Even when I close the desktop Adobe file: the pdf window in Firefox goes blank, but it can be closed as normal. Is this a workaround?

You can leave either of Acrobat or Reader open (with no docs open) and the behaviour of FF is fine, however the second you close the Adobe exe, then when you close the PDF window in FF it will lock up. Killing the browser will leave an Acrobat.exe running under task manager that then ruins any attempts to use Adobe.
