User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6 this is meant to be a firefox version of bug 183291. i've seen truncated downloads (especially of mozilla.org installers) that are reported as successful for many versions of firefox under both windows XP and OSX. the most recent one i saw was when trying to download the FF 1.0.5 installer using FF 1.0.4 under OSX. the symptoms were that the correct size was originally shown, but the download was marked as successful and complete after only ~700K. Reproducible: Sometimes
not sure how to get any traction on this. this just happened again for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b5) Gecko/20050922 Firefox/1.4 trying to download http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla1.8/firefox-1.4.1.en-US.win32.installer.exe :(
WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.6a1 Don't you have any proxy/cache server, or any router in your network?
well there are definitely routers between me and ftp.mozilla.org :P i know of now proxies or caches in between us, though. the same downloads always work fine in IE :(
Does this still happen in a recent build?
