In Firefox 1.0.x when you click on the favicon in the location bar during an
initial focus event, it selects the text, e.g. allowing for one key delete and
replace, cut-and-paste, etc.
This does not seem to work with yesterdays builds of Deer Park. I haven't look
yet to see when this regression was introduced.

Probably a regression from the clickSelectsAll disablement.
Mike, is it also the desired behvaior for linux (i.e. select all when clicking
on the favicon. otherwise, place the cursor)?

the fix for bug 291768 actually addresses this for Linux, and now OS X since we
flipped the click selects all behaviour to match native/HIG textbox behaviour.
As a note, clicking anywhere in the URL bar in 1.0.x would have selected the
full contents, as I understand it, but adding support for clicking the page icon
to select all is a good compromise.
