Definitely not places; only native theme bits seem to always be rendered at the origin. Stuart touched some matrix stuff in 329306, but I don't see anything in there that could have done it; reassigning to thebes gfx anyway.

hrm, i broke this again.

i checked in something that will maybe fix this.. i hope... I can't reproduce this in my builds.. only in the builds gaius is spitting out. sigh.
