Seamonkey trunk builds after 4/05 crashes during shutdown, if Account Settings/Server Settings of Mail&News is viewed. Talkback IDs : TB17428896Z (4/05 trunk nightly build) TB17426915Z (4/10 trunk nightly build) (Steps to produce) 0. Create new profile with normal build(4/03 build or older), and create a dummy POP3 account, and uncheck all "server settings" items to avoid server access. 1. Start Seamonkey(browser) with -ProfileManager and choose the profile 2. Start Mail&News 3. See "Account Settings"/"Server Settings" of the dummy POP3 account, then close "Account Settings" 4. Close Mail&News window 5. Close Seamonkey(browser) -> Crash If step.3 is changed to next, no crash occurs. 4-x. See "Account Setting" only (NOT open "Server Setting" panel) If step.4 is changed to next, crash also observed. 4-y. Edit a draft mail, then close compose window(no change is required) This crash started to occur from 4/05 build. Last non-crash build is 4/03 build. Note: 4/04 build won't start with -ProfileManager. Profile selection panel is started, but "Start" nor "Exit" button on profile selection panel doesn't works.
Please post your complete User-Agent here and in Bug 333540. And if possible a list of your Add-Ons and Extensions too, this would help a lot.
User Agent(When Build ID: 2006041010) : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060410 SeaMonkey/1.5a Add-On's : As described in comment #0, no add-on's because "new profile".
(Correction) Sorry for spam. If step.3 is changed to next, no crash occurs. *3-x.* See "Account Setting" only (NOT open "Server Setting" panel) If *step.3* is changed to next, crash also observed. *3-y.* Edit a draft mail, then close compose window(no change is required)
Are you clicking "OK" or "Cancel" to close the account settings? (worksforme both ways)

(In reply to comment #4) > Are you clicking "OK" or "Cancel" to close the account settings? I closed with "OK" always in my test after view "Server Settings". > (worksforme both ways) Which OS do you use? (I use Japanese MS Win-2K SP4)
Talkback says carsh in PR_SetPollableEvent (nsprpub module). And, since same crash occured after mail compose too, I can not think account manager issue, so I set "general" initially. Andrew Schultz, is this account manager issue really?
I'm on linux. General is just a dumping ground for bugs without a home. If this bug is triggered by using the account manager, then the first is likely to be tracking down what the account manager is doing, either to cause the crash or to confuse some other component and cause the crash. PR_SetPollableEvent is part of NSPR. The file with that method hasn't changed in 2 years.
This problem(and Bug 333540 also) started to occur from 4/04 build(2006040411, Win32 ZIP build). "Not start problem on 4/04 build was: 1. If last used profile is choosed at profile selection, Seamonkey won't start. 2. When another profle is choosed, Seamonkey starts normally, but profile selection panel was not closed, and stayed to open even after shutdoewn of main Seamonkey windows. 3. Prifile selection panel can not be closed by "Exit" button. Clickng of upper right corner ofthe panel is required to close profile selection panel. So, if wanted profile is choose after choosing another profile and start&stop Seamonkey, start up of Semonkey was possible, and same crash of this bug was observed on 2006040211 trunk build. TalkbackID : TB17564915G (Build ID: 2006040411) Chaninging to NSPR because crash in NSPR module, to request first analysys of crash.

It sounds likely this is related to my checkin for bug 111384, because that checkin added calls to PR_SetPollableEvent. Unfortunately there is no useful stack trace, that could confirm we are really crashing in the new SSL thread code (I suspect wo do). I've never seen this crash before, but I use Linux primarily. I will try to reproduce this on Windows.

WADA, are you able to test 1.8 branch builds? (for both this crash bug 333534 and crash bug 333540) Here is a 1.8 branch build, without code from bug 111384: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/contrib/2006-04-12-11-mozilla1.8/seamonkey-1.1a.en-US.win32.zip Do you crash using 2006-04-12-11-mozilla1.8 ? Here is a 1.8 branch build, with code from bug 111384: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/nightly/contrib/2006-04-14-00-mozilla1.8/seamonkey-1.1a.en-US.win32.zip Do you crash using 2006-04-14-00-mozilla1.8 ? WADA, thanks a lot if you can test that! If the crashes are related to bug 111384, then: - you should NOT crash using 2006-04-12-11-mozilla1.8 - you should crash using 2006-04-14-00-mozilla1.8

(In reply to comment #11) Tested with 1.8 branch builds on MS Win-2K. Scenario of bug 333534 Scenario of bug 333540 2006-04-12-11-mozilla1.8 No crash No crash 2006-04-14-00-mozilla1.8 Crash Crash
Same crash still occurs with Seamonkey Trunk 2006050310(Win32 ZIP build,Win-2K). Talkback ID: TB18280596E Situation is slightly different from previous crashes - No Mail&News window, no Mail&News account settings. (1) Currently using profile. (Same profile when Bug 333540) (2) Start Seamonkey(browser only), then a Tab for Home Page (local HTML with a local JEPG image) is displayed. (3) Dialog of "Set default browser or not" is displayed(by my option setting), and "Yes" is responded. (4) Close Seamonkey -> Crash
Removing "mail&news" from summary, because crash occurs even when no Mail&News is started.

Talkback ID : TB19468363X (Seamonkey latest-trunk 2006060308, Win32-ZIP, Win-2K) This annoying crash still remains, although a friend, Bug 333540, was successfully bypassed by disabling "TLS, if avail" option. What's wrong in my environment?

Depends on: 342646
This should be caused by the personal firewall you have installed. Should be the same crash as bug 333540 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 333540 ***
