Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3

I have 2 emails flagged as JUNK but they do not get moved into the JUNK folder automatically.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.down load POP3 email
2.observe behavior of flagging JUNK
3.some JUNK moved not all (for example I had 30 message this am, 5 JUNK, 3 moved automatically, 2 were stuck in the inbox.
You mean they've been detected as junk (by the Junk Mail Controls) or you've manually marked them as junk? For the first, see bug 196732 comment 60; for
the second, bug 279018.
Bug confirmed with new profile / new account.

It seems that Junk folder needs to be manually created, but move to Junk does not work (all options / account setting tested).

Possibly there is a bug here, but since you won't co-operate by answering a simple question (comment 1), it's highly unlikely that it will ever be addressed.
George Parsons, can you reproduce this in a recent build? Those two that weren't moved, do you happened to have some other filter that includes that sender or that sender in an address book?
Copied from #352163...

This bug still exists in a recent build:
--------------
I uninstalled Thunderbird, saved my profile's e-mail to another folder, deleted
my profile, and then installed the 20061122 1.8 nightly. (I.e. "version 2 beta
1 (20061122)")

I manually copied my local mail folders from my saved stash into my new
profile's Mail/Local Folders. I did not copy the .msf files, and I did not
copy the Junk folder.

I have three mail accounts with a single global Inbox.

And...this bug still happens.
------------

I'm running XP Home, using a global Inbox. This was a fresh profile unsullied by human hands, save for manually copying my local folders over.

The bug that's still happening is, manually marking messages as junk does NOT move them to the Junk folder.

I haven't had Junk mail arrive since the fresh install, so I don't know yet if incoming Junk will be properly moved.

If you want me to run some experiments or whatnot, tell me...

(In reply to comment #5)

Mike C. gave me a suggestion that fixed my problem. So this bug isn't happening for me anymore...
nothing from reporter, bug duping instead of ->invalid
