I'd like the ability to expand an entire document or subtree in DOM Inspector. Often I know that the node I'm looking for is a descendant of some given node, but I don't know exactly where it is, and having to expand each descendant manually to find it is frustrating.
One possible UI: "Expand subtree" context menu item, "*" keyboard shortcut (see bug 83215).
yeah, i really want * to work. we should make that happen. given that it's probably hard, i'm not heavily opposed to a hack that includes a context menu item for it, as long as the hack includes a reference to that bug and a note indicating that the menuitem *will* go away when it's fixed.

Timeless, why do you think the context menu item should go away once * works? Context menu items are more discoverable and can be used with only the mouse.
