isn't that a bug in the PDF Plugin itself ?
Yes
Has this been fixed? Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a5pre) Gecko/20070503 Minefield/3.0a5pre with Acrobat Reader 8 no longer seems to have this problem for me anyway.
I'm still crashing with the testcase, using: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a5pre) Gecko/20070512 Minefield/3.0a5pre and the latest updated version of Adobe Reader 8. I'm not really sure who I can cc from Adobe on this.
Tested using latest-trunk(Win-XP SP2, Adobe Reader 8.0.0). > Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20070604 > Minefield/3.0a6pre Seems to depend on Adobe Reader's Internet/Web Browser option setting. Quick test results with iframe/pdf file testcase in comment #1. - Display PDF in Browser (D) : Checked in all cases Case-1: Allow fast web view (A) : Checked Allow speculative download in the background (S) : Checked Case-2: (A) : Checked, (S) : Not checked Case-3: (A) : Not checked, (S) : Checked Case-4: (A) : Not checked, (S) : Not checked Crash when reload is observed only when Case-1. (Similar problem was observed on initial release of Adobe Reader 7 & subsequent) (several suffix up releases, and Case-4 was a workaround sometimes.) To Martijn Wargers(bug opemner): Is disabling above two options a workaround?
Adding "Adobe Reader 8.0.0" to summary to avoid confusion.

I don't know where to find these options. But I don't think the Adobe Reader should crash, anyway.
(In reply to comment #10) > I don't know where to find these options. Start stand alone Adobe Reader 8.0.0 application, and go Environment(or similar term, N, CTRL+K) of Edit menu, then go Internet option setting. See Bug 325588, Bug 337271 and other Adobe Reader 7.x related bugs listed in dependency tree of meta Bug 336184 for problems when Adobe Reader 7.0.x (including already closed bugs), please.
Disabling of "Allow fast web view (A)" and "Allow speculative download in the background (S)" was found to be "not a workaround". I've opened Bug 383826 for a funny phenomenon before crash/hang etc. during test of testcase in Comment #1 (many iframe with pdf in it). Bug 383826 always occurred when "Display PDF in Browser" was enabled.
Talkback ID : TB32968772X (Firefox trunk 2007/6/07 build, Win, Adobe Reader 8.1) Crash after testcase of comment #1 (many iframes with pdf in it). 1. Open a PDF in comment #0 in a tab (=> hidden AcroRd32.exe starts) 2. Open testcase of commnent #1 in the tab => Phenomenon of Bug 383826 occurs 3. Click "Back" button after load of step 2 completed => Crash

Flags: blocking1.9.1?
This does indeed sound like a bug in the Acrobat plugin. Not blocking our release on this.
Flags: blocking1.9.1? → blocking1.9.1-
Is there a way to let Adobe know about this?
