Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.9) Gecko/20061206 Firefox/1.5.0.9 Build Identifier: 20061207 I created a filter to move all incoming messages to my Local Folders Inbox. However, Thunderbird does not notify me of new messages arrival. Isn't it supposed to check the local inbox as well ? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a filter to move all incoming messages to Local Folders Inbox 2. Wait for a new message 3. The new message is moved to Local Folders Inbox Actual Results: The notification (in the tray) does not show up/play a sound Expected Results: The notification should show up/play a sound
Are you using IMAP? Bug 228168 is similar, although that claims that you DO see a message -- but it just tells you have 0 new mails. Also, if you have more than one account, do you get alerts for mail in other folders?
I get alerts for mail in other folders
Additional info: The account stay with the star indicating a new mail until I click on my inbox, although it is empty because all messages were moved to my local inbox.

Yes, it does that: bug 116181/bug 224823. And as long as that flag is not cleared, there won't be further notifications for any account: bug 210148. Is that the problem you're reporting -- that is, if that New flag has been cleared, are you getting the alert? If so, this bug should be duped to 224823. (I'd love to see tghose fixed, but they're old and apparently unimportant.) However: with TB 2.0, you're going to see the problem of no alert for messages filtered from IMAP to Local Folders all the time -- see bug 228168 comment 24.
