Currently, cleanup is only done after successful completion of a testrun. We should have a check either on start of a new run or after failure to cleanup any affected directories or files.
In the Talos mini perf farm we've got the cleanup step running at the start of a build rather than at the end. This should take care of that, no? You also may be able to set some of the steps to 'haltOnFailure=False' to let the Builder keep running BuildSteps.
if that's good enough for you, mark this fixed.
Since this hasn't been touched in forever, I'm going to say that that was good enough for us.
