This is a similar issue which is already fixed for the Download Manager by the patch on bug 416303. But this one applies to the Add-ons dialog. If you are doing a search for a specific Add-on and hitting escape afterwards the dialog shouldn't be closed. Instead the current search string should be removed and the list should go back to the list of Recommended Add-ons.
