It seems as if the "Recent Folder" list in Thunderbird keeps track of the most recent folders one has visited. This is useful. But it would be far more useful if it kept track of the most recent folder to which one had stored email through a MOVE TO or COPY TO command. Alternatively, there could be two "Recent Folder" options, a "Recently Visited" and a "Recently Stored To".
Yes, I'd like to have those two ... Make a pref to disable, if necessary ...
see also Bug 370324 ...
see also bug 498069 filed on MailNews_Core, seen on SeaMonkey-trunk.
see discussion in bug 370324. good discussion, but bug 370324 comment 0 seems more about incorrect data in the existing MRU list, rather than that it is the "wrong" data, i.e. that we should be using different data. add "triggered only by manual message move and copy MRU" to summary, which must include movement via drag and drop, command and context menus.

Summary: "Recent Folder" list would be much more useful in another way → "Recent Folder" list would be much more useful as triggered only by manual message move and copy MRU (most recently used)
QuickMenuMC extension is designed to do this prior to TB version 2 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/1624

Still occuring in TB3(.1pre)
I totally agree, fwiw.
QuickMenuMC (see comment # 6) works (after adding the app's GUID) also on SeaMonkey 2.0.x (Gecko 1.9.1.x) and even on Sm2.1a1pre (Gecko 1.9.3a5pre = current trunk), so I would assume that it works with all current builds of Thunderbird, including trunk (possibly with a maxVersion override). Not ideal (context menu only, not the top Message => Move/Copy menus) but good enough as a workaround while waiting for a _real_ solution. The max number of MRU folders it remembers is customizable.
should be fixed by bug 370324
