from discussion in irc.mozilla.org#mobile, it was suggested (decided) that minimo's softkb component should not live under minimo/components but under /extensions, and built as component as part of libxul: softbk might be useful not only to embedded but kiosk mode, and so on.

This bug is about track moving soft component specifically from minimo/components to /extensions. just creating a separate bug the quicker it is fixed, fennec could make use of it.

--enable-extensions=softkb would be enough to build it.

I thought bsmedberg said he wanted to vacate extensions at some point. There's no better place to put it?

We should vacate a bunch of non-extension things from extensions and in general clean it up, but it seems like the right place to put global components that are optional in the build, no?  Not sure where else you would put things like this.

Yeah, I don't really have a great suggestion. I would almost lump it with a11y stuff, but it's only conceptually related.
