User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008061204 Minefield/3.0pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9pre) Gecko/2008061204 Minefield/3.0pre If I select not much more than a handful of bookmarks in places, and try to move them, the desktop freezes, and only the mouse works. I have to login to to a new shell and kill firefox. The screen shows the selected bookmarks partially moved and distorted. I am using ubuntu hardy heron and the gnome desktop. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select at once some bookmarks in places. I selected about 10. 2.Try to drag them to a folder in places 3. Actual Results: The desktop hangs. The firefox screen is misdrawn. I need to press ctrl-alt-F1 to login to a new shell and stop firefox. The top command shows firefox using all the cpu, but not much memory. Expected Results: The selected bookmarks to quickly move to their destination, and not to hang the desktop.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
