User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14 Build Identifier: 2.0.0.14 (20080421) If I open Thunderbird and hit the 'Get Mail' icon, nothing happens. If I hit the arrow to the right of the icon and press 'Get All New Messages' I am able to retrieve my mail. There is a previous bug report filed, however it is for Thunderbird 0.9 from 2005. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Thunderbird 2. Hit Get Mail Icon Actual Results: Nothing Expected Results: Thunderbies checks for & downloads new mail
Version: unspecified → 2.0
I have exactly the same issue. I thought it was just me. Thanks for reporting it. Craig
Tried without extensions? (thunderbird.exe -safe-mode) Anything of interest in the Error Console?
Hi Magnus, Nothing at all in Error Console & even in Safe Mode it does the same thing for me..."Get Mail" button still not working. Thanks, Craig
Has there been any further action on this? There is no change when using safe mode, and nothing in the error console.
Not that I know of. Are you using multiple accounts? IMAP or POP? Using the global inbox option? Does it work if you select the specific account in the Get Mail dropdown?
I'm using two POP3 accounts with global inbox turned on. If I select the specific account or 'Get All New Messages' in the drop down, it works.
There are a bunch of Get Mail bugs. This one looks most like bug 261992 (which you may have referenced), so it's probably worth noting in that bug that it's still an issue with 2.0.0.14, rather than filing a new bug. If you're up for helping consolidate the open bugs (just do a search in Bugzilla for "Get Mail"), that would be even better!
