Details

Vectors are a big improvement over Arrays for monotyped data. We have been standardizing on using it everywhere we can instead of Arrays. Vector's don't support a "sortOn" method, however, which is a commonly used method by our users. It will be awkward to tell users "yes, use Vectors all the time....except if you need to sort your data".
