See related feature tracking bug #10872 The feature bug #10872 for remember last selected message has been set to a "future" milestone, so we need to remove the related pref from the main preferences dialog. Please remove the pref from the ui: currently located at Edit|Prefs|Mail and Newsgroups|"Remember the last selected message"
