Thunderbird 3.0 Beta 1, BuildID=20081204113938, Mac OS 10.5.5 Moving imap folders is buggy: sometimes they get /copied/ when I drag them to trash, sometimes they get moved and sometimes nothing happens. I can move folders to other folders, but I didn't manage to move a sub-folder back to the imap root.
First a question - are you able to create imap folders OK, both in the root and as subfolders? I don't see "sometimes", what I see happens always. In Bug 467994 I did not test imap because my imap "seems" currently messed up. Expanding on that and your comments, there is a bigger picture. 1. I can't drag a local folder to either the imap root or to a subfolder. And my imap does not allow folders and messages in same folder - so I have that account advanced option checked - but oddly, the drop icon suggests it would allow the drop to a folder that has messages and *disallow* the drop to a folder that is marked to allow only folders. 2. attempting a move, I can drag a folder from imap to local, but the folder is not deleted from the imap account. (already reported?) 3. I suspect there are more dnd problems ... for example yesterday I was testing 3.0b1rc2 and dragging news messages to a folder local folder seems to leave the local folder locked - cursor spinning This is indeed a major usage bug. Confirming and leaving bug 467994 open.

I can drag copy a local folder to an imap folder, but I can't copy to the root. I'll look into that...
one general problem is that the new folder pane only allows drag onto folders that can file messages, which works for drag drop of messages, but not for folders. This isn't imap specific, however. I believe canDrop needs to check this._currentTransfer and see if we're dragging messages or folders, and then perform the appropriate check.
Klaus, do you still see this using beta 3? David, was this picked up in bug 467994?

As far as we know, this is FIXED/WFM. If you can reproduce this with beta3, please reopen it!
