We currently put the icons and graphics used for build in our source code repository, but don't have a good place for us to keep the collateral used to create them, or the original high res versions which might be needed to make other similar icons.
We'd like a repository set up for these things; I'm thinking on svn.mozilla.org as it doesn't need to be fancy. Dunno if it's best to put it off the root or in projects, but /icons or /graphics feels right for the repo name.

let's make the repository called "design" and then we can use the subfolders "visual" (basically building K) and "interactive" (building S).
Placing in the root might make the most sense, since I would like us to check in source files for a wide range of projects and topics.

No, not design. Loaded word, not really encapsulating what we're doing here. You're right that /icons is too restricted, though.
/graphics
/firefox
/icons
/osx
/windows
/linux
/brand
/mozilla
/firefox
/messaging
/marketing
/posters
/spreadfirefox
/college
(we can build out the structure later)

After talking with Alex on IRC, he convinced me that we might want to put non-graphical collateral in there.
So /design it is! The structure will likely become:
/design
/graphics
/firefox
/icons
/osx
/windows
/linux
/brand
/mozilla
/firefox
/marketing
/posters
/spreadfirefox
/college
/interface
/firefox
/3.1
/privatebrowsing
/ctrl-tab
/3.2
/etc
Let's do that. Thanks, Alex.

That's being handled through other bugs, as people need to go through the normal account request process.

I'm filing now, and I'll set those bugs to depend on this one.

I'll need write access (see bug 476003). Read access should be global.
Depends on: 476003

Ok, everyone who comes to mind has a dependent bug filed for account creation and setting up r/w access. If I accidentally forgot someone, please add them as well.
