User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090212 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0b2pre In Thunderbird 2.x days, when one had View->Headers set to "Normal", the header was only a few pixels tall (20-30?), leaving a lot of real estate for the actual message content. In the Thunderbird 3.0 alpha, and even more so in the beta, this area has grown to an enormous 100 pixels. Most people, I think, are interested in seeing *content* rather than information that mostly duplicates what one already sees in the message list window (e.g. subject, from, date). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Bring up Thunderbird 3.0b1 2.Set View->Headers->Normal 3.Select a message and see how much vertical real estate is taken up by the header. Actual Results: wasted vertical real estate used for mostly redundant information. Expected Results: Just show the essentials in "Normal" mode as it used to be in 2.x. If this area can't be shrunk back down to its previous size, there should be a View->Headers->"Minimal" or "None" option which lets the user (re)claim this real estate.
