User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011912 Firefox/3.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3pre) Gecko/20090218 Shredder/3.0b2pre I have a "unified mailbox" -- two POP accounts which show up as one inbox, set up years ago via the account manager. When you "archive" a message via the new message toolbar button, it vanishes from a UI point of view. I *believe* that it is going to an archive folder under the individual account subtree, but not sure. No way to see it from the UI. ALSO: When I went to the account manager, and tried to set the Archive location to an "Archive" folder for the master unified account, still couldn't see the archive folder in the folder tree. ALSO: I did the following: Archive a message. Undo. Fix the archive location as described above. Archive the same message again. Look in the Activity Mananger window Result: The first archiving looks like it filed the message in a folder named according to the message month and year. The second one looks like it filed it in a folder named something like 01-1969. -- so something in the archive/undo procedure nuked the message date. Sorry I don't have a log of this but I then closed the activity manager, tried to bring it up again from the menu, failed to make it appear, and quit the app and restarted it -- when I did so, activity manager came back again on next app run, but the log was empty. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: See above Actual Results: See above Expected Results: Archive for a unified inbox should have one master archive folder by default, that everything lands in, and that is visible to the user. Otherwise, there is data loss from the UI point of view!
Can you try to reproduce and have a look in the error console ?

Filed bug 479163 for the date aspects, because as a rule of thumb, any time you type "also" in a bug summary you should backspace, file, and then file a second bug.
