tried to get into a site and this automatically pops up when i try to click on a page:
Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/chrome/en-US.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.properties2.webim0120.webim.myspace.comwimstate=c.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. logged into myspace
2. go to inbox or any other page and error comes up
3. hit TRY AGAIN button, nothing happens.
Actual Results:
I sign in to myspace and when i try to open inbox, the above pops up...tells me to try again, but no action. I got on another computer and got in, both run firefox, but i DO NOT have CHROME so i dont know why it is stating chrome in that code.
Expected Results:
I would just like to know how to get into this page and why yesterday this started to happen.

chrome:// is an internal protocol which is used by Gecko several years.
It doesn't have a connection to the google browser with the same name or google used the name because Gecko is using it (as joke ?)
The chrome:// Protocol loads the internal Firefox User Interface, you can for example enter chrome://browser/content/browser.xul in Firefox URL bar to get a browser window inside of the browser : Note: clicking the link should not work, you can only copy+paste it into firefox URL bar.
Do you get the same issue in the Firefox safemode ?

This is coming up often as a result of third party software surreptitiously installing a variant of the MyWebSearch toolbar, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions#Ask.com_Toolbar
Uninstall it from Tools -> Add-ons, "Extensions" dialog, or follow instructions at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_add-ons#Uninstalling_an_extension_manually
Resolving as WORKSFORME but if you don't have the Ask extension THOR, feel free to mention whether this still happens after creating and switching to a new profile - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows

This bug has more dupes than the earlier bug 453288 but should we dupe this one to that bug or vice versa?

Blocklisting perhaps?

Looks like frequency of this has dropped but it still happens on occasion. Can we figure out what version we should be blocklisting?
