After e.g. /attach moznet you are presented with the dialog "Choose your nick
name". Currently the textfield is not selected, to change from IRCMonkey to
another name (quite probable :-), you have to click in it and delete IRCMonkey.
It would be nice to give the text field a) focus when opening and b)select
IRCMonkey, so you don't have to delete it manually when changing to another nick.

That prompt is a javascript prompt(), and has no option for preselecting the
default text. Chatzilla can't fix this.
Do other browsers automatically select the default text in a prompt()? It
sounds like a reasonable thing to do.

Bug 83827 has a patch for this and just needs to be reviewed, super reviewed and
checked in.
Depends on: 83827

Remove myself from QA of 33 open Chatzilla bugs and change to default QA
contact, since I have no way to verify these easily. Still no working Mozilla
on my primary platform and it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon. :(

This seems to be fixed in trunk build 2002101408 on Win2k.
(Not fixed yet in 2002090206)
(Probably along with bug 83827)
Summary: [RFE] Preselect NickName in textfield. → Preselect NickName in textfield.

Yes, it is definitely fixed.
As the reporter I take the freedom to close this one correspondingly.
