Start page works fine. This seems to happen only if the mail start page contain Javascript. Testing with:20100915 Thunderbird/3.3a1pre 20100910 build works fine, so it looks like The JM landing.

Also reproducible on SeaMonkey Win32 trunk builds 20100912 and later, thus looks like a Core bug or something the two applications yet have to take care of to work properly. Tested on Windows XP with Windows Classic desktop theme.

Not able to get any crash info here so..dunno The crash also appears for RSS feeds, but only those that have javascript content

Gary can you try to get a stack trace and assign to correct component if crash is in JS land ?

the fix is in for bug 596457 in mozilla central builds after sept. 17. can you re-try and see if the crashes go away?
