In a computer that has 2 switchable graphic cards, the graphic info of the "about:support" page displays the same driver version and date whatever the graphic card. When ATI card is selected : Adapter Description: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series Vendor ID: 1002 Device ID: 95c4 Adapter RAM: 256 Adapter Drivers: atiumd64 atidxx64 atiumdag atidxx32 atiumdva atiumd6a atitmm64 Driver Version: 8.641.1.1000 Driver Date: 8-24-2009 Direct2D Enabled: true DirectWrite Enabled: true When Intel card is selected : Adapter Description: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Vendor ID: 8086 Device ID: 2a42 Adapter RAM: Unknown Adapter Drivers: igdumd64 igd10umd64 igdumdx32 igd10umd32 Driver Version: 8.641.1.1000 Driver Date: 8-24-2009 Direct2D Enabled: true DirectWrite Enabled: true
This might not be a Firefox bug. I've checked the Device Manager it and it has even more explicitly stranger results. I believe I booted in ATI graphics mode this time, which might explain the difference, but regardless the Intel chipset is distinct and shouldn't be attributed to ATI as a manufacturer.
This is very strange.
This looks about right.
This is not a Firefox bug. It is a wrong installation of the Intel chipset. Reinstall it

This is intended behavior by Lenovo/ATI/Intel. Switchable graphics drivers are published by ATI, distributed by Lenovo, and will show ATI as the vendor. Since Intel's specs are open, ATI can make a driver that encompasses both, whereas Intel cannot do the opposite. @Scoobidiver, reinstalling the driver will not "fix" this problem. This is what switchable graphics looks like. In fact, Lenovo's distributed drivers and Intel's reference drivers will refuse to install because of the different SUBSYS ID. The driver, however, WILL install if the system is set to use the Intel card only (no switchable). That being said, probably should be WONTFIX?
You have no problem with Intel card because HW acceleration is disabled. Indeed, D2D/D3D features are blocked if the graphic driver version is lower than 8.15.10.2202. I don't think we can't do anything for that as we don't know the Intel driver version that was used by ATI.
Resolution: INVALID → WONTFIX
Summary: [gfxInfo] Same driver version and date whatever discrete/switchable graphic cards → Same driver version and date with discrete/switchable graphic cards causes a disabling of HW accel with one of the card
