I'm not seeing this on linux, but I am on mac. classic skin only.

I'm relying on rusty memory here, but I *think* this is a general Themes problem -- make a vanilla XUL file with a progress meter in it, and it's too narrow. This may be because it was created specifically for Navigator's status bar, rather than Navigator's status bar being a special (narrow) case.

From what I can see the barber pole looks normal (recent trunk). This was probably fixed when the progressmeter got properly themed (long time ago).
