In order to complete bug 600317, I need a machine that runs either Fedora 14 or RHEL 6 to host the yum repository creation programs and nightly keys. Getting this repository set up is a Q1 goal. This machine will be used to generate a yum repository and delta-rpms. Creating the repository involves a lot of hashing of rpms and creating delta-rpms. This machine will need to receive incoming SSH connections from any/all linux build slaves as well as make outgoing SSH network connections to stage.mozilla.org. A no-op run of the delta rpm creation program used 1.1GB of memory and took a minute to run on a machine that didn't need to use swap. $ tstime makedeltarpm minefield-4.0-b13pre.20110308154012.x86_64.rpm minefield-4.0-b13pre.20110308154012.x86_64.rpm out.drpm Exit status: 0 pid: 1353 (makedeltarpm) started: Thu Mar 10 10:39:26 2011 real 50.423 s, user 36.183 s, sys 14.162s rss 1115156 kb, vm 1127376 kb used http://themes.freshmeat.net/projects/tstime
Going to deploy this in scl2, but the machines don't appear to have IPMI configured as expected. Will make a site visit tomorrow AM to sort this out.
