The "View" toolbar button

The View->Messages menu item is missing when the user does not have the View button placed on the toolbar. It is expected that this functionality would remain especially if the toolbar button is missing.

Can you provide a screenshot of the toolbar button you are talking about (so I make sure I understand what you are talking about) ?
