(Whiteboard: [bugday-20131111])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1
Build ID: 20111220165912
Steps to reproduce:
I went to a non-https site (I used http://www.livejournal.com/ ), allowed it to load, then:
1) I pressed ctrl+L to highlight the awesome bar
2) pressed ctrl+X to cut the content of the bar
3) pressed ctrl+V to paste the content of the bar
It was pasted as 'http://www.livejournal.com/'.
4) pressed Enter to reset the awesome bar
5) pressed ctrl+L to highlight the awesome bar
6) pressed shift+delete to cut the content of the bar
7) pressed ctrl+V to paste the content of the bar
It was pasted as 'www.livejournal.com'.
Shift+delete is a synonym for 'cut' on Windows. It should have the same semantics as ctrl+X and the Edit | Cut menu item.

This has been open for 3 years? Can you reassign someone else to the bug?

No one was ever assigned to this.
Sorry, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to go around assigning people to bug reports.
