20010419 and 042013 mac trunk. When downloading a file, Saving File dialog says at the front and clicking in other windows or using Task menu do not switch to other windows.

It seems that sometimes a browser window goes into similar mode and prevents switching windows.

This is pretty ugly. updating component. Steps to reproduce: open browser. begin largee download like a mozilla build. attempt to switch focus to browser window by clicking on the titlebar or tasks menu. tested with 041908 mozilla mac build on os9

yech, what a regression! checked using 2001.04.23.08 bits and this isn't a problem on linux or winNT --Mac only.

it's not only the download dialog, but the view source window too. But you can click on a window behind it, this will come in front, and then the source-window pops back to the front.

That is a different (and old) bug. In this bug, clicking windows does not help.

I think this bug should go to danm; it's a pretty serious window layering problem.

This looked solved with build 05-11 on Mac OS 8.6. Can anyone confirm?

WFM in 2001051504 trunk for Mac. Browser windows stopped behaving in similar manner, too.
