Suppose a vcs command takes a message (optional) and a filename to commit: >> cvs commit --message 'blah' readme.txt Ideal emptyParameter status shown under the input line, using | to denote cursor position: >> cvs commit| <filename> >> cvs commit --message | <message> <filename> Currently while editing a named parameter we explicitly drop all emptyParameter hints.
