Was working with jmaher and he couldn't connect today with his linux client because username/password auth doesn't work on the 10.8 mac slaves.

This patch addresses the issue raised in bug 783085 where deleting the Administrator user means that no users can connect via screen sharing.  I've tested it and it works with the patch from that bug.  I couldn't find a way to implement this via defaults, but using kickstart worked.  Also, I don't think the call to osxutils::defaults is required anymore since we only have one non-root user now and they have remote access via this new patch.

But this doesn't let linux users login, right?  I think we need to find a way to enable "legacy mode", but kickstart's options to do so don't seem to work in my testing

No, this doesn't let linux users connect. This patch is just to allow cltbld users to connect via screensharing to address the issues when you delete the Adminstrator account in bug 783085.

I don't think this worked. Catlee and I have never been able to connect to these machines.

I know Kim is away right now, but I'm raising the severity of this because it's not possible to debug some issues without VNC access.
