Does it happen in Safe Mode (see https://support.mozilla.org/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode)?
Doesn't appear to. I notice safe mode simply disabled the addons, it still leaves the plugins turned on. I have then opened up firefox in normal mode, turned off all addons, but still crashes. What else is different about safe mode?

As stated in the above article, it disables also HW acceleration. Try it.
In order to help us fixing it, can you provide a valid stack trace (see https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_with_WinDbg)?
Severity: normal → critical
Component: General → Graphics
Keywords: crash
Product: Firefox → Core
Hardware: x86_64 → x86
Summary: Constant crashing firefox 15, even after fresh install, no add ons/plugins. → Constant crashing firefox 15, even after fresh install, no add ons/plugins with AMD driver 8.982
Have attached the trace. Disabling HW acceleration appears to stop the crashing.

Disabling HW acceleration stopped the crashing on my system as well. I originally reported my problem (incorrectly I might add) under Bug 711568, Comments 18 thru 21. Thanks to all above in helping me resolve this issue.

Can you attach the dxdiag log (Start > Run > Dxdiag > Save Output)?

I think I've the same problem: AMD hardware here, HD 5970 and updated drivers on the 13th.
Ran without hardware acceleration now and no single crash at all.

AMD has released Catalyst 12.9 Beta (see http://support.amd.com/de/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst129betadriver.aspx) that fixes corruptions in Firefox observed in CrossFire configurations.
Can you test it with HW acceleration turned on?

I'm testing it now, and so far no crashes so the driver appears to have fixed this problem.

So let's close this bug that is fixed by the AMD driver version blocklist.
