Firefox 18.0a2 2012-11-12 found updates to Firefox 18.0a2 2012-11-19 on aurora channel. Is this expected?
Yes. We don't "disable" updates in the sense that they aren't available, we shunt any new updates to the "auroratest" channel. "aurora" will get updates to today until we "re-enable" updates.
In other words, if I check again tomorrow, 2012-11-12 should still update to 2012-11-19?

We screwed up last time and didn't disable updates in time. Because of that we had to fully shut off updates. That's not the normal process, though. see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=785767#c5 for details.
Verified that Aurora builds do not update past 2012-11-19.
