+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #756325 +++ While investigating bug 756298 for the Mozmill scripts, I noticed that a fresh installation of Nightly had the channel-prefs.js in the new 'preferences' folder, an existing Nightly installation that had been updated to the latest build still had channel-prefs.js in the 'pref' folder. I suspect this inconsistency could cause problems.

Bug 756325 finally left channel-prefs.js in defaults/pref directory. This bug was opened the same day 756325 and had no activity since then. However, bug 756325 was closed on June 2013. Maybe this one could be closed as WFM, Mark? Also, I am reverting my change of component as was not about the preferences itselves but about the build (packaging) process of them.
