It may be a good idea to redirect mozilla.org/firefox/nightly to nightly.mozilla.org, because that is the logical place that someone would begin looking. (Aurora builds are in /aurora, beta builds are in /beta, etc...)
Cmore: please reply. Thx.
This would be a temporary fix while we wait for bug 717322 to land.

Are people being directed to the URL you mentioned? If not, are we assuming that people will type in that URL expecting to find nightly builds? Just need to understand this requirement better. Thanks!
I just checked and there are zero 404 errors to this URL:

www.mozilla.org/firefox/nightly

While this redirect is logical, no one is being affecting by it since no one is typing in that URL except us. :)

Unless... there is an inbound link to that URL that I am not aware of.
I am assuming that people will type in the url looking for nightly builds. You should have found at least 2 or 3 404 errors because that was where I started looking. I had been looking for nightly builds for a while before a blog post led me to nightly.mozilla.org.

I guess I just don't want other users to have a hard time too.
If you Google search for "Firefox Nightly", nightly.mozilla.org is the first link.

About 70% of internet users search for content and only about 10% enter type in URLs. Of the 10% that types in URLs, it is root domain URLs like ebay.com, mozilla.org, google.com. A very small percentage of people would decide to type www.mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/ to find nightly. I am not saying it is zero, but it will be fairly low and the new nightly site is coming up in the future.

I re-checked the stats and I have better numbers now. In the past 30 days, there have been 93 pageviews to /firefox/nightly/. We will keep this bug open and see if the developers have time to put in the redirect in the coming weeks.

Thanks!

How does this relate to bug 748503, porting the nightly firstrun page to bedrock? Does that page need to move as well?
